All contingent officers and coaches are reminded to ensure and safeguard the athletes, and that their welfare, safety, and well-being must always be given priority. This was among the aspects highly emphasised by the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council. His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council made the reminder in a Sabda at the National Flag Handover Ceremony to the national contingent competing at the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, People's Republic of China. The ceremony took place at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas, 16th April morning. The 6th Asian Beach Games will be held from the 22nd to 30th of April 2026.
In his welcoming remarks, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports reminded the athletes to always be cautious about the use of unauthorised or questionable medications and supplements.
In the Sabda, His Royal Highness reminded all athletes and officers to always maintain discipline by adhering and respecting all rules as well as guidelines set by the organiser. The national flag was handed over to Pengiran Abdul Raub bin Pengiran Haji Ghani, the country's Chef de Mission. The contingent included four athletes and two coaches. The athletes will compete in beach athletics and teqball.
